"A FREE PRESS IS NOT ONLY A RIGHT, AND NOT ONLY A PRIVILEDGE, BUT AN ORGANIC NECESSITY IN A GREAT SOCIETY."-WALTER lIPPMAN

"The duty of journalists is to tell the truth. Journalism means you go back to the actual facts, you look at the documents, and you report it that way."-Noam chomsky

"Freedom of the press is a precious priviledge that no country can forego."-Mahatma Gandhi

Our mission

We are an organization dedicated to promoting the values of free speech and free speech on an international and domestic scale by stimulating high standards of ethical journalistic behavior. Some of the ways that we promote this behavior is by educating our community on the SPJ Code of Ethics that all journalists must follow, holding virtual and in-person panel discussions that feature a diverse number of journalists, and organizing trips to Washington D.C. so that we as future journalists can be educated on what it means to report freely and accurately. Go visit the About page to learn more on how you can be involved!
